Allen Associates is a “green” building company. Our vision is to create structures that are net producers of energy, net purifiers of air and water, and that generate zero waste. To this end, we seek to conserve as much energy, water and other resources as possible in the construction and operation of all the structures we build. We are committed to using products and systems which create a healthy environment for those who will live and work in the structures we build. Dedicated to deconstruction rather than demolition, we recycle job waste and strive to use products with recycled content.

Dennis Allen, our company’s founder, has 33 years of experience in green building, including residential and commercial new construction and remodeling. Our approach to building starts with assembling a “green team”. Early in the planning process, we introduce a client to a carefully chosen group of green building professionals—architects, engineers, interior and landscape designers, and subcontractors. By providing a strong focus up-front on “green planning,” our clients are rewarded with environmentally efficient buildings and often lower construction costs.

Allen Associates’ green building expertise has been recognized by the Santa Barbara Contractors Association, honoring us with its prestigious “Best Green Building Award” for nine years in a row - every year since the award’s creation in 1998 – and as “Builder of the Year” three different times, more than any other company in the area. In 2007, Professional Remodelers Magazine featured our company president Dennis Allen on the magazine’s cover, recognizing him as a top building innovator in the country.
